Two Weeks and Two Days

Even though she is only two weeks old and her head wobbles unstable on top of her body, I can already feel Elizabeth's body making the transition from newborn to baby. At 1:00 am this morning as I patted her back, willing a burp from her mouth, she felt sturdier, her back broader, just a tad heavier and I tried to sear the memory of her smallness in my brain.

The boys look like giants now. Almost grown. And I've been trying desperately to recall their first days to little avail. I remember moments and I see snapshots in my mind, but they are fleeting and I'm left with gaps in my memory. Peyton pulled out the photo album that showcased his first and second years and I had a brief a-ha as I thought to myself, "Oh, there you are." My chubby faced first born.

As much as I'd like to stay home and watch all my babies, I know I will have to go back to work, at least for a little while. So for now, I am trying to capture every moment, enjoy every sigh and big, baby yawn. And pictures, I'm taking lots and lots of pictures.

Happy Birthday, Baby

Sure as I finished that last day of work, my water broke after we ate lunch on Saturday before we could head to Home Depot. We've been at the hospital since 4ish, epidural around 10 and I think she'll be here within a couple hours.

Getting really excited. Should be sleeping but can't wait to meet this little girl.

Last Day of Work

While the days have seemed to drag on and on, the weeks and months have flown by and I find myself finishing up my last day of work before leave. Baby girl is officially coming and soon!

Not that I can control this, but it would be nice if she waited till her due date to make her appearence though. I need to finish up some things next week and Peyton has testing and I'd like for him to not be distracted. But as I have no control over that, we shall roll with it as we can.

Our lives are about to change and I know in a month or so, I won't even remember what we did before this new little one entered the world.

Larry and I both would like me to stay home, but I'm not sure we can swing it. This leave will be a test in many ways. On one hand, we've paid off some things, but then on the other hand, we're adding expenses. So, we shall see. Should be interesting all around.

That's about all I've got. Brain is a little mushy. Obviously, your prayers for healthy baby and smooth delivery are wanted. Hopefully, baby pictures will be posted all over the web soon.
